Are Mariah Carey and James Packer getting engaged? While rumors are swirling that the singer could get married again, she remained coy when asked about the speculation this week.

TMZ caught up with Carey in Beverly Hills on Monday, and a cameraman questioned if she was ‘excited’ to be engaged soon. But Carey just smiled and replied, ‘What are you talking about’?

 

Still, it wouldn’t be surprising if Mariah Carey and James Packer got engaged soon. The two have only been together since June, but there are rumors they are already talking marriage. Packer was smitten from the start, and Carey has supposedly warmed up to the idea of getting hitched.

And while Mariah Carey may not be engaged just yet, it’s clear she’s happy once again despite her divorce from Nick Cannon. Wouldn’t you be smiling if you rented that amazing house in Malibu?

Packer’s net worth is a reported $4.6 billion, making him one of the richest people in his native Australia. Carey, meanwhile, has plenty of money of her own. Her net worth is an estimated $520 million, and that number should only increase with her European tour next spring. She has even been offered $500,000 for a one-time performance in Israel. Add in the money she’s making from her Vegas residency, and Carey can certainly afford to live a life of luxury.

Carey and Packer also spent a lot of money to rent a beach house in Malibu for $10,000 per night. The four-bedroom villa includes a Jacuzzi, a gourmet kitchen,  high ceilings and a guest cottage. The romantic home will give Carey and Packer plenty of time to bond as a couple, perhaps as a precursor to a future engagement.
