PDP Expressed Gratitude To Bamanga Tukur At 80

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) describes its former National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, as a quintessential democrat and humble statesman, who has contributed immensely to the development and stability of the nation.
The PDP, in a birthday message to Alhaji Tukur, who turned 80 today, said it remains proud that the octogenarian, who is one of its founding fathers, has made indelible marks in business and politics within and outside the country.

The birthday message released by PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, on Tuesday, said the party remains grateful to Alhaji Tukur for his leadership roles and sustained selfless contributions since its formation.
“The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the PDP family nationwide, felicitates with one of our founding fathers, an astute leader, quintessential democrat; the former National Chairman of our great party, Alhaji (Dr) Bamanga Tukur, CON, (Tafidan Adamawa), as he turns 80 today.
“Indeed, we give thanks to the Almighty God, who, in his benevolence, has kept you in good health and sound mind as you continue in your selfless service to mankind and our dear fatherland.
“The PDP family is ever grateful to you for your numerous sacrifices and contributions to our great party, where you remain a fountain of inspiration to many. Despite your towering attainments as a global statesman, in business and politics, you have kept faith as an epitome of hard work, honesty, humility and service; qualities, with which you immensely impacted our great party during your tenure as National Chairman.
“As we join family members, friends, associates and all well-wishers to mark this auspicious day with you, we pray that God continues to bless you with good health and many more years, so that the nation and mankind will continue to benefit from your wealth of wisdom and experience”, the message read.
The PDP also urged younger generation of leaders to emulate Alhaji Tukur’s humility, honesty, sense of duty and dedication to the national interest.
