Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has been presented with a record fourth Golden Shoe award in a ceremony on Tuesday, after finding the back of the net 48 times in the 2014-15 season.
The three-time Ballon d’or winner collected the award, given to Europe’s highest goalscorer over a season, ahead of archrival Lionel Messi, as the Barcelona talisman managed a total of 43 goals.
The 30-year-old has won the award on three previous occasions, twice while at current club Real Madrid and once when playing for Premier League giants Manchester United.
The Portuguese ended the last campaign without any trophy at the Santiago Bernabeu as Barcelona swept to an impressive treble, but his individual goalscoring prowess has again been recognized.
Ronaldo’s phenomenal goalscoring record was recently commended by the Madrid club, as a ceremony was dedicated to the forward for overtaking club legend Raul as the all-time top goalscorer for Los Blancos.
