Caitlyn Jenner to play in women's golf tournament

Caitlyn Jenner will tee off Wednesday morning at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage as part of the ANA Inspiration Pro-Am field.

The LPGA's first major of the season announced Jenner's addition on its website Tuesday evening.

Jenner tees off at 7 a.m. and will play alongside fellow celebrity amateur and women's soccer legend Abby Wambach. They will be joined by amateurs Josh Doxater and Tom Abbott. Their pro-playing partners will be Marina Alex for the front nine and Danielle Kang for the back nine.

The former Olympian who garnered much attention for transitioning to a woman last year, is an avid golfer and in recent months has made her way to the desert for various occasions.

In January, Jenner made an appearance at the National Gay Pilots Association winter gathering held at Renaissance Palm Springs and in September bonded with daughter Kylie over Mexican food at Las Casuelas Nuevas in Rancho Mirage and car-racing at Thermal Club.
