A match between the 2006 Togo national team set and the 2016 set has been organized in honour of the late Stephen Keshi. Keshi, who also coached Togo in 2011, died on the 7th of June, 2016 and Togo’s sports writers union, Association des Journalistes Sportifs du Togo (AJST) in conjunction with the sports ministry have decided to organize a match in honour of the Nigerian tactician.
“The game is between players of the team that Stephen Keshi qualified for the 2006 World Cup like Emmanuel Adebayor and the present generation of the national team,” Aime Ekpe, president of AJST told Goal . “Negotiations are taking place (with the NFF) and the match would be played either in Lome or in Lagos,” said Ekpe.
