Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong has declared three free working days in honour of the Commissioner of Housing and Urban Development, Arch. Samuel Galadima, who slumped and died while jogging with him at Rwang Pam Township Stadium in Jos on Wednesday.
The free working days are between Wednesday, the 22nd to Friday the 24th of March, 2017.
In a press statement signed by Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Rufus Bature, governor Lalong expressed shock over the sad event and said he was deeply grieved with the manner the commissioner died.
”The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong on behalf of the Government of Plateau State is with sincere sense of loss deeply grieved to announce the sudden demise of the Hon. Commissioner of Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Arc Samuel Galadima who passed on to glory this morning, Wednesday, 22nd March, 2016 at the age of 64.
“The late Hon. Arc Samuel Galadima was part of the state Executive Council members participating in the regular forth-nightly Physical Exercise at the Jos Township Stadium, when he slumped and was rushed to the Plateau State Specialist Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
“The Executive Governor has as a result of this tragic loss, declared three (3) days of mourning beginning from today Wednesday, the 22nd to Friday the 24th of March, 2017.
“The Executive Governor has also suspended all his public functions in keeping with the mourning mood of the State. All citizens of Plateau State are enjoined to share in the burden of this loss while praying to God for the family and indeed the entire people of Plateau State to have the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
