The Spain international has been linked with a move away from Madrid in recent weeks, with Barca touted as a possible destination, and the rumour mill was sent into overdrive on Thursday when he was curiously pictured with Barcelona-branded crisps.
Isco removed the photo on Instagram before posting a new image without the crisps, but supporters were left feeling suspicious about the star’s future intentions.
However, he has since dismissed the speculation and outrage, stressing his commitment to Los Blancos in a series of Twitter posts.
“I’m not joining Barca, you annoying people!” Isco wrote on his personal Twitter page.
“This was a photo to say that we’re going to beat them.”
The 24-year-old added that he had not even tried the snacks and that it was all a joke with his friends.
“By the way, I have not even tried them!” he added, to reassure Madrid fans.
