2,899 Teachers And 172 Non Teaching Staff Sit For Promotion Examination In Kwara

                     A total of 2, 899 teachers and 172 non teaching staff sat for the 2014 promotion examination conducted on Saturday by the Ministry of Education in Kwara.
The examination was conducted in five centres in Ilorin the state capital.

Alhaji Alabi Lamidi, Coordinating Permanent Secretary, Teaching Service Commission and Ministry of Education, made the disclosure in Ilorin while briefing newsmen.


He said that teachers who pass the examination would be promoted while those who failed would wait till next year to write another examination.

Lamidi said the government was keen on improving the quality of education in the state, adding that this necessitated the yearly conduct of promotion examination.

He said that since teachers in the state earn more than their counterparts in other state, they should be dedicated to their job

"They also benefit from car loans and are promoted as at when due,” he said.
