Amosun Promises Ogun Workers Better Welfare Packages

The Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has assured workers in the state that his Government would not shirk in its responsibility of providing stunning welfare packages to enhance their well-being.

Speaking at an interactive session with Labour leaders organised for Governorship candidates in the state at the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) State Secretariat in Abeokuta, the Governor said that the success of any government largely depends on its workforce.

Governor Amosun stressed that his government would build a system-driven economy which would be of great benefit to the people in the state.

“A government that cannot pay its workers is not fit to exist. The best you can do for me is to imbibe the spirit of Ogun State standard which brings the difference into our service.

“The best is yet to come for workers in Ogun State. There will be more stunning goodies which would be done after the election.

“If we do anything now, many people would say we are doing it for the sake of politics”, the Governor stated.

Earlier in his remarks, the State Chairman of the NLC, Comrade Akeem Ambali, commended the Governor for his cleverness in managing the affairs of the state, despite dwindling Federal Allocation.

He maintained that workers in the state would do their job without participating in politics, adding that he would not mind declaring February 13 as a day of prayer and fasting for the sake of peaceful general elections.

Among those in attendance were the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa; Head of Service, Mrs. Modupe Adekunle and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prof. Ganiyu Olatunde.
