Kanye West insists President Obama has called him at home, despite the Commander-in-Chief’s denial earlier this week on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” The rapper spoke with paparazzi at LAX Airport in Los Angeles on Friday, returning to the United States following his various activities at Paris Fashion Week.
“I love Obama. He called our house before. He knows that,” declared a smiling West. Motioning to the paparazzi, he added, “Don’t try to pit us against each other. I love Obama.”
During his “Kimmel” appearance, Obama had been asked about a recent interview in which West bragged about speaking to leaders like Elon Musk and… Obama. Quoting from West’s interview, Kimmel said, “Obama calls the home phone, by the way.” The host then asked Obama whether it’s true he and West have phone conversations.
Obama said that he’s met West twice, once while Obama was still an Illinois senator, and then again as President about six months ago, but downplayed their relationship. “Look, I love his music, he’s incredibly creative… I don’t think I’ve got his home number,” Obama told Kimmel. There you have it."
