NIS Holds Prayer Session For Success Of Election In Imo

As part of their preparations for the forthcoming general elections, the Imo State command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) held a one day prayer summit in Owerri, the Imo State capital to pray for a successful election that will be devoid of violence, free, fair and credible.

The comptroller of NIS Imo State Command, Mr Batholomew Idu, said apart from the physical preparations by security operatives in the country, it is also important to prepare spiritually and commit the elections into the hands of God so as to prevent the death toll that occurred during the post election violence in 2011.

He added that he is optimistic that with the prayers by religious groups, and all well meaning Nigerians, the election would be successful and Nigeria would become a stronger nation.

Mr Idu also added that all foreigners and nationals of other African countries living in the country should steer clear of the 2015 elections as it is purely a Nigerian affair and no foreigner should be in possession of any Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs)  for voting purpose as his men had already recovered numerous PVCs from suspected foreigners."
