Speaking on the return of peace and commencement of lawful activities in the hitherto troubled area, the federal lawmaker representing the area at the House of Representatives, Khadijat Bukar Abba Ibrahim, said that she would table a motion for the provision of adequate relief materials to the affected persons at the resumption of plenary billed for March 31, 2015.

The lawmaker also said that she would press for huge presence of security operatives to the area to check future occurrence as well as special grant for rebuilding and reconstruction of the destroyed areas.

She praised the gallantry of security forces for the return of peace to the area.

The member representing Gulani at the Yobe State House of Assembly, Abdullahi Kukuwa, while thanking security operatives for their relentless efforts in the restoration of peace in the area, pleaded with the authorities to allow elections to be conducted within the area instead of relocating polling stations to neighbouring Fika Local Government.

He expressed sadness with the devastation caused on houses and other valuables but also expressed hope that government at all levels and donor agencies or spirited individuals would come to the aid of the affected persons.

The political gathering was a reunion for the people of the area as they have been displaced for the past one year by Boko Haram."
