Even Wynonna Judd has something to say about Kanye West. The country singer made her SXSW debut with a Friday night concert, during which she jokingly dissed the rapper while discussing fame. Judd is quoted as telling the crowd, “My cab driver told me on the way here, ‘They say Kanye’s gonna be here.’ I’m like [finger in throat, gagging noise]. I want to be Kanye. I want to have people talk about me. I can take him with one hand tied behind my back.”
We have a feeling there won’t be a Judd-West war, although it is interesting how West manages to find his way into so many unexpected conversations. Last week, the rapper and President Obama were publicly disagreeing over whether the Commander-in-Chief has called West at home.
A couple of days before that, West called racism a “dated, silly concept” in an interview. He found himself the target of a Shirley Manson rant, during which the rock singer told him to “go f*ck [himself].” He delivered a speech about everything from The Matrix to The Bible at Oxford University. He inadvertently prompted Lindsay Lohan to use the N-word on Instagram after the actress saw him perform in Paris. And all of that happened just in the first couple weeks of this month! Say what you will about West: He provokes a response."
