In 1992, he turned his attention away from the music scene and he joined the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna, where he spent a year and six months.
The track ‘Follow me’ featuring Daddy Fresh was a hit In 1994. Again, the Deltan, Daddy Showkey dropped his solo debut effort titled ‘Welcome’.
The album gave him a brand name and paved a way for him in the entertainment circle, showing that even form the ghetto like Ajegunle, one can still make it big so long you are a believer.
‘Welcome’ announced his arrival and the success brought many concerts and tours around and across borders.
In 1999, he dropped “Ghetto Soldier” Album which skyrocketed him to limelight The biggest reason for this was his juggernaut hit “Diana” which received masive love from fans across the globe.
I, for one remember vividly when i was though growing up, but was exposed to know the then ghetto tunes and the introduction of their ghetto dance ‘galala’ and a way of repping the ghetto, we also saw likes of Marvellous Benjy Blackface, Baba Fryo amongst others…
He is now known as a G.papa in the game and also has endorsement deals such as Lotto Nigeria and Globacom Nigeria. Below is a #TBT of the hit ‘DIANA’
