James Woods sues Twitter troll for $10M over accusation he’s a ‘cocaine addict’

Actor James Woods is suing an as-yet unidentified Twitter user who accused him of being a drug addict.

Someone going by Abe List was named in the 68-year-old’s $10M lawsuit, filed in LA Superior Court on Wednesday.

Woods says the tweet came as a response to his post deriding media coverage that favors figures like Caitlyn Jenner over issues like the debate over Planned Parenthood.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Abe List’s full response read: ‘cocaine addict James Woods still sniffing and spouting’
The account associated with the username Abe List (AL) appears to have been been shuttered since the filing of the suit, which states:

‘AL’s reckless and malicious behavior, through the worldwide reach of the internet, has now jeopardized Woods’ good name and reputation on an international scale,’ the complaint reads. ‘AL, and anyone else using social media to propagate lies and do harm, should take note. They are not impervious to the law.’

Per the suit, it does not appear that Woods and his team had yet identified the human being behind the Twitter account and Abe List being a likely synonym, Twitter may soon expect a subpoena.

The suit claims the message was sent to ‘thousands of AL’s followers and hundreds of thousands of Mr. Woods’ followers,’ that Woods has never been a cocaine addict and alleges the defendant’s behavior has ‘now jeopardized Woods’ good name and reputation on an international scale’
