Wednesday morning with some HUGE news: He’s releasing a new single, ‘What Do You Mean’, on August 28!
So what is he trying to tell us with that title? ‘Well, girls are often just flip-floppy’, Justin explained (in a whisper). ‘They say something and they mean something else. So … what do you mean? I don’t really know, that’s why I’m asking’.
Although we won’t get to hear it for another 30 days, JB gave us a description of the uptempo track. ‘It’s fun, it’s summery … Definitely the first single is amazing. I worked really hard on it with a guy named Poo Bear’.
Fans of Justin’s collaboration with Skrillex and Diplo, ‘Where Are U Now’, are in for a treat because he says his album — his first in three years — is ‘along the same lines’ as the hit track.
‘It’s really uplifting, clear, poppy, but cool’, he revealed. ‘The sounds are super expensive. Skrilex is a genius. He’s super futuristic and I just love his sound. So to be able to incorporate that sound with what I’m doing has been super cool because it’s new and fresh. I feel like no one has done it before. I’m very excited’.
