A federal lawmaker has faulted the suspension of the Controller General of the Nigeria Immigration David Parradang by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari had on Friday suspended Parradang and asked him to hand over to Martin Abeshi, who is the next most senior officer in the service.
However, Rep Timothy Golu, who represents Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency of Plateau State said the suspension was too hasty.
“As leader of the nation, Buhari is eroding the public confidence of people by being reactionary each time an issue is presented before him. I recall that the president had taken such misinformed decisions twice or thrice when he had to overrule himself because he was not properly briefed.
“He should have called the suspended CGI and ask questions and where he is dissatisfied, he can take proper decisions and be able to tell Nigerians what happened. How can a permanent secretary query a CGI that is not appointed by him? That was in subordination and indiscipline, which the president himself is promoting and will not mean well for his much talked about anti corruption crusade,” he said.
