The war against insurgency is gaining momentum as the police have now deployed a total of 4,000 men to partner the troops who are on the battle fronts fighting the insurgents.
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, disclosed this on Thursday when a delegation from the U.S. Embassy led by Ambassador Daniel Mozena, visited him at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.In a statement issued by the Force spokesperson, Olabisi Kolawole, the police boss said the Nigeria Police Force was committed to sustain the fight against insurgency in the country, adding that a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) has already been deployed to the Operations Command Centre in Maiduguri.
“our 4,000 operational policemen are working in partnership with the military to end insurgency in the North-East” the police boss told the ambassador.
Mozena praised the police conduct so far in the ongoing war against insurgency in the North-East, promising that he would be willing to assist the force in handling terror suspects willing to surrender and lay down their arms.
