Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, world’s first smartphone boasting a 4K display, has been officially announced at IFA 2015.
With 2160 by 3840 resolution at 806 pixels per inch, the phone’s IPS LCD display display trounces its next best competitor, Samsung’s Galaxy S6 which has 577 pixels per inch. The screen also touts Sony’s proprietary TRILUMINOS display tech to improve color accuracy.
In terms of build, it has a solid shining metal frame sandwiched between pieces of glass at the front and at the back.
It also includes a fingerprint scanner, which can substitute lock screen PIN, water resistance, front facing stereo speakers, expandable SD card slot.
The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is pushed by a Snapdragon 810 processor and 3GB of RAM running a skinned version of Android 5.1 out of the box.
Other specs are 23 MP main camera with Hybrid autofocus and 5MP front facing camera and 3430mAh battery.
It will be available around November 2015 in single and dual SIM variants.
