Lecturers of the University of Jos have
begun an indefinite strike to press home their demands for improved
working conditions. The lecturers, in a statement by F.C. Piwuna, the
chairman of the university’s chapter of the Academic Staff Union of
Universities, on Friday in Jos, said the union’s National Executive
Council, had approved the action.
“The NEC of ASUU has approved our request for total, indefinite and comprehensive strike starting immediately. It means that all activities – teaching, supervision, examination as well as statutory and ad-hoc committee meetings have been suspended,” Mr. Piwuna, said. Not s cool on the students sides.
