11 people sentenced to 300 lashes & 1year imprisonment for having a beachside party in Saudi Arabia

 It is well known that women are not allowed to mingle with men in Saudi Arabia unless they are related. Six women and five men have reportedly been sentenced to 300 lashes of the cane and 1-year imprisonment after neighbors reported them to the police for having a beachside party.

Police found images of indecent pictures and alcohol after a raid on a beachside villa in Jedda, Saudi Arabia and charged the offenders with ‘obscenity’.

The group were initially given jail sentences ranging from eight days to a year and 150 lashes, according to a report by Breitbart, but their prison terms were increased and their flogging sentence raised to 300 lashes after a failed appeal.

In Saudi Arabia, alcohol drinking is banned, women are not allowed to mix with men unless they are related and women are not allowed to wear dressing that shows off their skin.
