“To begin with, no allegation has been made against me officially that I know of. Therefore, I have no reason to run. I know for sure that all the accusations in the media are in the realm of speculation.”

The former minister has been accused of benefitting from the $15b arms purchase scam, which the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki is currently standing trial for.

Obanikoro also was accused of allegedly masterminding the rigging of the Ekiti state governorship elections alongside Governor Ayo Fayose in 2014.
