Man sues R. Kelly over alleged affair with wife

A Mississippi man has filed lawsuit against R. Kelly, alleging the singer had an affair with his wife of five years.

Kenny Bryant, a Hinds County Sheriff’s Department deputy, said the Chicago-born crooner became involved in a romantic relationship with his spouse, Asia Childress, prior to the couple’s July 15, 2012 wedding.

In the court complaint filed April 21, Bryant added that the affair ensued in October of 2012, when Childress attended one of the singer’s shows.

According to WAPT, Bryant since agreed to his wife’s request to relocate to Atlanta so she may “further her career” opportunities — which Bryant believes was really a motive to further the affair.

The deputy claimed he hasn’t been able “to find profitable employment” after making the move, resulting in a “financial ruin.”

The couple reportedly tried to reconcile the tainted marriage, but Bryant revealed he could “not prevail against R. Kelly’s continued sexual overtures to Childress.”

In the complaint, Bryant also claims R. Kelly seduced his wife.

Childress has since filed for divorce.

A summons was issued to the order of the “Ignition” singer Monday, requiring him to respond to the complaint.
