Ekiti State Governorship Election Tribunal, sitting in Abuja has dismissed the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC), challenging the victory of Governor Ayodele Fayose in the June 21, 2014 election.
At a sitting today, December 19th, the tribunal dismissed the petition filed by the APC and its candidate, Kayode Fayemi, challenging the victory of Gov. Ayo Fayose in the governorship election. The court in its ruling said the petition filed by the APC was “lacking in merit”.
All issues raised in a petition, including claim that Governor Fayose was not eligible to contest the election based on his purported impeachment and certificate forgery were dismissed.
