Obanikoro Says PDP Primary Not Credible But We Must Move On

Former Minister of State for Defence and PDP Lagos Governorship aspirant, Musiliu Obanikoro on Friday explained why he reconciled with the winner of the PDP Lagos governorship primaries, Jimi Agbaje, inspite of the party primary which was flawed, according to him.

We raised a valid argument on the need of the PDP “to have a process that is credible, transparent and believable – unfortunately, we didn’t have that” he said, which was why he had initially dragged his party to court.

However, the Senator has turned a new leaf.

“There’s time to bicker and then there’s time to move on”, he said on Sunrise Daily, a few days after he made public his resolution to work with Agbaje, during a reconciliation meeting with Vice President Namadi Sambo, Jimi Agbaje, Peter Obi and some other party chieftains.

According to Obanikoro, “there must be a means to correct the past with a view to moving forward. Nobody lives in the past and wins” and that informed his decision to move on.

He also noted that the party leadership had given assurance that credible processes will be the order of the day in PDP henceforth.

He lauded the reunion, calling on politicians to emulate the same. “In our own polity where it seems politics is a do or die thing, I think what you saw there is a precedent that I believe politicians should embrace”.Watch Video Here
