According to Leadership, Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola has appointed Mrs. Folashade Sherifat Jaji as the new Head of Service (HOS) in the state.
The commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Lateef Ibirogba who disclosed this at a press briefing yesterday said her appointment took effect immediately.
Ibirogba said her appointment followed the retirement of the former HOS, Mrs Josephine Williams who retired last Friday after 35 years in service.
According to Ibirogba, Mrs. Sherifat Jaji is the 18th Head of Service in the state, adding that she is the most senior of all the serving permanent secretaries in the state.
On the fact that Mrs. Sherifat has less than six months to her retirement from civil service, Ibirogba said the governor considered her because of the wealth of experience she would be bringing to her new office.
He said six months is not too small to make meaningful contributions to the development of the state’s civil service."
