The Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) and African Independent Television (AIT) have spoken up on why they aired the ‘Lion Of Bourdillion’ documentary that exposed the mismanagement of land, properties and funds by Former Governorof Lagos and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu.
According to the Nigerian Tribune, the Director-General of NTA, Mr Sola Omole and the Group Managing Director at Daar Communications,Mr Tony Akiotu, on Tuesday, explained to the House of Representatives Committee on Information and National Orientation during an interactive session why it aired the supposed hate message.
On its part, the NTA DG said “it is a matter of perception, what you describe as hate message, I might not see it in that way. Our work in NTA is in 100 per cent in compliance with NBC regulations.”
The representative of AIT declared that “we abide by broadcasting rules and strive to maintain balance in our programming. We are a private company. We make money by selling airtime. On several occasions, we have given right of reply when required.”
It will be recalled that on Monday, the AIT studio complex in Alagbado was gutted by fire though it the situation was quickly arrested by firemen.
Also Tinubu,was criticized by Chief Olabode George for trying to copying the mannerisms of Chief Obafemi Awolowo.'
