A man in Tokunbo Street, Lagos Island has suffered injuries from stab wounds inflicted on him by his jealous wife for bringing another woman home.
According to Daily Post, Cletus Ezedinma, the stabbed victim was said to have incurred the ire of his wife Jumoke Akinyanju, when she sighted him in company of another woman identified as Bose.
Unaware that his lover was home, Ezedinma and Bose fell pray to Jumoke who launched an attack on Bose after seeing her with her husband.
Ezedinma’s effort to stop Jumoke from attacking Bose failed. However, the latter managed to escape from the room.
Following Bose’s escape, Jumoke held Ezedinma by the collar and started punching him in his face.
Jumoke allegedly broke a bottle and stabbed him on his bottom when he also tried to escape from her grip.
Justifying why she resorted to such violence, she said she wanted to beat her rival and leave her with a mark but he stopped her and thus became the victim of her rage.
According to a neighbor’s account, Jumoke is a very strong woman. She was assisting her lover with cash when he had no job. But now that he is working, she never expected that the man would bring another woman home.
Jumoke has pleaded with her husband to forgive her for stabbing him.
Domestic violence is a prevalent problem in Nigeria. Between half and two thirds of Nigerian women are subject to domestic violence in their homes. Only few men suffer such violence at the hands of their wives."
