Egyptian President Pardons Convicted Al Jazeera Journalists And 97 Others

The 3 Al Jazeera journalists who were accused of operating without a press license and broadcasting material harmful to Egypt have been pardoned by Egyptian president, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

Egyptian, Baher Mohamed and Canadian, Mohamed Fahmy were both sentenced to three years in prison last month while Australian, Peter Greste was released and deported in February.

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced on Wednesday that the reporters will be granted freedom alongside 97 other prisoners.
