Buhari Appoints Senator Babafemi Ojudu Political Adviser

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed the immediate past senator representing Ekiti Central, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, as his new Special Adviser on Political Matters.

Senator Ojudu, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ekiti State, collected his letter of appointment late Tuesday, January 5.

As a member of the 7th Senate, Ojudu was vice chairman of the Committee on Defence as well as spokesman of the Southwest APC Senate caucus in the Red Chamber.

Senator Ojudu was one of the active lawmakers in the 7th National Assembly but decided not to seek re‐election in 2015 even as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ekiti State swept the polls in all the three senatorial districts and federal constituencies of the state.

An accomplished journalist, Ojudu was one of the leading media practitioners who devoted their time to fighting military dictatorship during the dark days of the Sani Abacha junta.
