Inko-Tariah, who resigned his appointment under inexplicable circumstances shortly after the Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal nullified the governor’s election in October 2015, also declared his unalloyed support for the APC governorship candidate in the state, Dr Dakuku Adol Peterside.
Making the declaration in a chat with newsmen in Port Harcourt yesterday, the former Wike spokesman commended the immediate past governor of the state and Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, for coming to his aid when he took ill.
Inko-Tariah recalled that though Amaechi had been at the receiving end of his sharp tongue when he was media aide to Governor Wike, it came as a surprise to him when the same former governor called to sympathize with him and also gave his widow’s mite.
In appreciation of Amaechi’s unsolicited gesture and rare display of love and care, the former Wike spokesman pledged to do his best to ensure that Peterside emerged as the governor of the state should the Supreme Court uphold the judgments of the election tribunal and appeal court, which ordered fresh elections in Rivers.
“It was surprising that a man I censored, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, CON, the Hon. Minister of Transportation, was the same person who showed unsolicited love and care.
“It was reinvigorating when he called to sympathise and also gave his widow’s mite while I was already in the United States for medical treatment after reading my resignation letter. How compassionate can a man be?” Inko-Tariah said.
