The Dolphins FC Threaten Fed Cup Final Boycott Over Unpaid Sign on Fees

Players of Dolphins Football Club have threatened to boycott the Final of the Federation Cup, if the Rivers State government fail to meet the commitment it made to offset part of their outstanding entitlements.
The players made the declaration on Friday as another drama played out shortly before their journey to Katsina Ala to face Lobi Stars in the last game of the season.
The Rivers government had promised to credit the account of the players this week, but has so far failed to do so.
The plan is for the team to travel to Katsina Ala, from where they will go straight to Lagos ahead of the Final scheduled for next weekend.
But the players initially refused to board the bus, as they told official 'we have not seen any alert'
But the captain of the team, Sunday Rotimi, after discussing with the players, later announced that they will proceed to Katsina Ala, but will head back to Port Harcourt and wait until the payments are reviewed.
- The Federation Cup Final is the last thing we can hold on to once that is played, we are not sure anyone will listen to us, Rotimi said.
