Man smashes his car into girlfriend's home killing her and their newborn baby girl

          A man was arrested, charged and convicted of murder after smashing his car into his girlfriend's home, prosecutors in California said.

According to the police investigation, the man of Los Angeles, crashed his sports utility vehicle into the Boyle Heights home of his girlfriend, killing her and injuring six of her family members.

26-year-old Eduardo Villareal was convicted of first-degree murder in connection with the death of his 19-year-old girlfriend, Zurisaday Bonilla.

He was also found guilty of six counts of attempted murder of her parents, three siblings and her three-year-old child from a prior relationship.

All were in the home when Villareal slammed his Cadillac Escalade into it just before midnight. The jury found him guilty of using a deadly weapon and causing great bodily injury.

His newborn baby girl was also killed in the crash.
