The Ogun State Government says it has created about 100, 000 jobs through the Joint Revolving Loans for Small, Medium Scale Enterprises by the bank of industry and the State government in the last 40 months.
The State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mr Bimbo Ashiru, made the disclosure in Abeokuta, the State capital during a retreat organized for senior management staff of the ministry on the promotion of Industrialization in Ogun State.
He also said the industrial drive of the administration has continued to yield positive results as 57 companies had opened businesses in the State .
The one day retreat brought together senior managers in the ministry comprising directors,field officers and those considered as the egg heads of the ministry with the aim of critically assessing the past and chart a new course for the achievement and realization of the 2015 budget target of the ministry.
Urging the staff of the ministry on modalities on how best to achieve the target, the commissioner said that the many initiatives put in place by the State government had been yielding positive results in the areas of job creation and industrialization .
The ministry also said that it was considering the solid mineral resources management to boost revenue generation to the coffers of government for more developmental projects."
