The dust raised over the failed Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) Mass Housing Scheme is yet to be settled.
The union and the developer have been in war of words over the failed project.
While NLC said that the developer had been on the run and is responsible for the failure of the project.
The developer on one hand blamed the NLC for failing to make the required provision for the project and attempted to transfer the subscribers funds to another developer without his consent.
The battle has shifted to the court room where the developer asked the court to appoint a third party to oversee the refund of subscribers .
Subscribers of the NLC Mass Housing Scheme paid the initial deposit for houses jointly initiated by the NLC and a private developer,
Kristian Lally over two years ago even though the project had failed and subscribers were entitled to a refund ,both the NLC and the developer are at war on the modality for refunds.
The developer claimed the leadership of the Labour Congress attempted to transfer the project to another developer which is contrary to the agreement by both parties, the Labour Congress accused the developer of falsehood
At court, the developer asked the court to appoint an independent administrator to refund the subscribers deposits,. the NLC accused the developer of fraud by making illegal withdrawal from the funds without the consent of the NLC
NLC however, asked the developer to come out of hiding so that the refund of the subscribers deposit could be made ,the developer on his part said the refund process would commence as soon as the Federal High Court appoints a third party to supervise the refunds of the deposit to subscribers .
However, none of the parties made reference to the over two hundred million naira interest accrued on the depositors fund."
