NCS Decries Consumption Of Foreign Frozen Poultry Foods

The Nigerian Customs Service(NCS) Federal Operations Unit (FOU) zone C Owerri has warned the general public to desist from the consumption of foreign frozen poultry foods as it’s dangerous to health and capable of causing irreparable damage to major organs of the body.

The Area Controller of the Federal Operations Unit zone C Owerri, Mr Victor Dimka gave this warning at the Abia/Imo command of the NCS in Owerri the Imo State capital south east Nigeria, while destroying 1500 bags of contraband foreign frozen poultry goods with duty paid value of over 16 million naira.

Mr Dimka said apart from the damage it can cause to the body, it is also an economic sabotage to the country because it had been banned by the Federal Government.

The area commander also showcased the seizure of 454 bales of second clothing with duty paid value of 43million naira.

Mr Dimka also warned all smugglers to desist from such act as men and officers of the NCS would not rest until smuggling is brought to its barest minimal.

The Area Controller said the seizures were made along Warri axis in Delta State, truck conveying the goods and  driver are in their custody.

Adding that the suspect would be taken to court for further prosecution.

The Area Controller also took newsmen round other seizures in their warehouse, this time around 464 bales of second hand clothing including baby wears with duty paid value of 43million naira seized along Eleme-Onne axis in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

He warned smugglers to desist from smuggling as customs would stop at nothing until smuggling is brought to its barest minimal

Other seizures made were vehicles and Other contraband items.

Meanwhile, FOU zone C had also called on members of the public to furnish them with more information in order to fight this ugly menace that is capable of ruining the economy of the nation."
