Orlando Bloom Deported From India After Travelling With An Invalid Visa

Orlando Bloom was deported from India after arriving at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday without a valid visa.

The 38-year-old actor had travelled to the country on the 1.30am British Airways flight from the UK, but was turned away as soon as he landed and ordered to take the 4am BA return flight to London on the same day.

According to airport sources, the Bureau of Immigration (BOI) could have allowed him to remain in the country for a longer period of time, despite not having the valid documentation.

Orlando who was officially invited to the country to promote tourism as a guest of the state – had reportedly applied for his e-visa weeks ago, but only learned it had been rejected when he landed.

In order to him to be able to return to India on Sunday, the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj was forced to intervene and facilitate a visa for the actor so he could travel back as soon as possible.

According to a source, there was upset at the handling of the situation, and the enforced deportation of the actor who – along with his office – was completely unaware that there had been an issue with the visa application.

To make matters more complication, Orlando was said to be suffering with a stomach bug, which meant he wasn’t able to get on the direct flight back to the UK, instead having to wait a few hours for the next one.
