Nigerian couple who made headlines for trafficking two Nigerian girls to
UK using black magic and forcing them into prostitution has been
jailed. Heavily pregnant Lizzy Idahosa, bagged 8-years in prison while
her husband Jackson Omoruyi was sentenced to 2-years in prison. While
pronouncing the verdict on Saturday Nov 8, the judge tells Idahosa;
'You targeted vulnerable young women, offering them the hope of new lives, all the while knowing you would keep them in a kind of hell, from place to place at your whim, forced to pay an entirely arbitrary debt with their bodies, day in, day out over a period of years.'Idahosa was convicted of trafficking the women, inciting them to become prostitutes and transferring criminal property, while Omoruyi was found guilty of money laundering.
The offences came to light after police arrested one of the victims, a 23-year-old Nigerian woman at the Ambassador Suite brothel in Cardiff, in June 2013.
