Wanted Man Applies For Job At Police Station, Ends Up Behind Bars Instead

John Wesley Rose applied for a job at the local Sheriff’s office but he ended up behind bars instead. At first, it would seem there was a mix-up since there’s no existing law criminalizing a job hunt at the Sheriff’s office but it turns out the 25-year-old had a long rap sheet and was a fugitive from the law.

Rose was being hunted by police for a variety of charges, including the rape, sodomy and sexual abuse of a 14-year-old girl.

He must have probably forgotten about his offences but the law did not and it caught up with him when his search for a job led him to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department in Detroit.

Luck ran out for Rose when one of the police officers at the station decided to run a background check, which flagged up his outstanding warrants.

The officer did not let the wanted man realize what he’d just discovered and instead invited him ‘for a second interview’.

When he eventually showed up for his scheduled ‘interview’, his prospective new colleagues placed him in handcuffs.

“I’m not certain what went through his mind”, Communications Director Paula Bridges told reporters. “But for some reason he went into a law enforcement agency, and if the allegations are true, you are a criminal attempting to get a job at a law enforcement agency”.
