A group, Buhari Support Organisation, said it had raised N1.4 million to support campaign of the presidential candidate of the APC, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari.
The Kogi State Coordinator of the group, Mr Idris Maiyanga, disclosed this to newsmen in Lokoja on Wednesday.
He said that the funds were raised voluntarily through sale of air time cards of some mobile telephone networks.
Maiyanga, who spoke at the formal launch of the campaign support fund cards, said that youths from three senatorial districts of the state constituted the majority of the buyers of the cards.
He described the APC presidential candidate as the best for country this time around, saying that Buhari would use his background to find solution to problem of insurgency in some parts of the country.
The coordinator appealed to candidates contesting for various positions in the coming elections and their supporters to mind their utterances.
He advised that the 2011 political violence should not be allowed to repeat itself this year.
Maiyanga appealed to the INEC to create level playing ground for all parties, warning security agencies, especially the Police, should not to be partisan.
He called on supporters of Buhari in the state to remain steadfast and not to rest until the ultimate goal of ensuring the victory of the APC was achieved in the Feb. 14 election.
