The election of youths as PDP governorship candidates in North-Central states is aimed at preparing them for greater and prosperous future, Senate President David Mark said on Wednesday.
"We have Gyang Pwajok, a youth in Plateau, Terhemba Terzoor, another youth in Benue, and Malam Nasco, a 38-year old young man in Niger.’’
Mark made the remark at the inauguration of Pwajok’s campaign in Mangu, Plateau.
He added that the move would bring leadership closer to the youths.
Mark told the youths to conduct themselves peacefully during and after the elections, pointing out that they would have the best of their world by so doing.
He cautioned the zone against risking their future with people they did not know, declaring that voters in north-central would fully support President Goodluck Jonathan in the February polls.
Mark said PDP was keen on building bridges between the old and young leaders so as to boost good governance and democracy in Nigeria.
Earlier, Pwajok noted the determination of elders to teach the younger ones to ensure continuity crucial to attaining a better Nigeria.
Jang called on the people to vote for him and give total support to Jonathan, adding that the President had good intentions for the country.
