INEC Swears In New REC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has sworn-in Abdullahi Kaugama as the new Resident Electoral Commissioner for Jigawa state, with a charge to uphold the tenets of the commission in the state.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony in Abuja, the acting chairman of the commission, Amina Zakari called on him to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new assignment.

Abdullahi kaugama was the first National Secretary of the commission, and served in the Maurice Iwu era.

Before his retirement, he served as an Electoral Officer with the commission.

He is to fill the vacuum created by the death of Abdullahi Minkaila, who died in Kano state few days after the 2015 general elections.
