Another wanted Boko Haram suspect has been arrested in Adamawa State (See)

Barely a day after the arrest of Chindo Bello, one of the 100 Boko Haram terrorists declared wanted by the military authorities, at the Abuja Airport, another kingpin on the list, Ishaku Wardifen, a Cameroonian, has been arrested in Adamawa State.

According to Vanguard, confirming the arrest in a statement, acting Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Usman, said: “As all hands are on deck to finally defeat Boko Haram terrorists in our country, today (yesterday) in the morning, another wanted suspected Boko Haram terrorist, Ishaku Wardifen, was nabbed by vigilant troops of 23 Brigade Special Battalion at a check point in Maiha, Adamawa State.
“Preliminary interrogation revealed that the suspected terrorist is a Cameroonian citizen.
“Visual matching with photographs on the poster of the 100 Boko Haram terrorists wanted list released by the Nigerian Army last month, shows that he clearly resembles the suspect on serial number 22 on the list.  The suspect has been handed over to military intelligence for further investigation and possible prosecution.
“Nigerian Army would like to once more call on all citizens and all well-meaning residents of our country to continue to be more vigilant and security conscious to enable us rid the country of the menace of terrorism and insurgency.”
It will be recalled that on Sunday, security agencies arrested one of the suspects, Chindo Bello, when he boarded an Aero Contractor’s flight to Lagos as he was intercepted by security operatives and handed over to the Directorate of Military Intelligence in Abuja.
“We would like to thank those eagle eyed and patriotic security agents and good citizens for the tip-off that led to the arrest of the suspect” a statement by Army Headquarters said.
