No fewer than four people were killed with 14 others injured on Sunday when a twin bomb blasts carried out by female suicide bombers hit the flashpoint area of Lake Chad, a security source in the Chadian capital N’Djamena said.
The source who spoke with AFP on condition of
anonymity said, two women suicide bombers and two civilians died in the blast. He put the blame on the Boko Haram sect on Ngouboua village near the Nigerian border.
Ngouboua village has suffered repeated attacks by Boko Haram sect since they first launched operations in Chad in February. According to the Chadian government, the deadliest attack on Chad’s side of the lake took place on October 10, when three suicide attacks at Baga Sola killed 41 people.
