BBC have released the list of the best five players in contention for the 2015 Africa player of the year award and and no Nigerian made the shortlist.
The list was released on Saturday, with the current holder of the award, Algeria’s Yacine Brahimi, along with Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ghanaian Andre Ayew, Senegal’s Sadio Mane and Yaya Toure of Ivory Coast were shortlisted.
The winner will be announced on December 11 after the winner would have been through voting on November 30.
Three of this year’s candidates, which was voted for by journalists from 46 African countries, have previously won the BBC award: Ayew (2011), TourĂ© (2013) and Brahimi (2014).
