Boko Haram Kills 15 Near Chibok

Boko Haram has recently killed fifteen people in an attack on a remote village near chibok, Borno state. Sources said the heavily armed insurgents, numbering about 20, raided Kautikari, some 10 kilometres from Chibok town on Monday at about 8pm.

“The terrorists drove into town in a Toyota Hilux vehicle and some motorcycles, shouting and shooting sporadically into houses. They opened on residents who were running for their lives and many were killed”, a source said.

He said at least 15 people were killed, but this figure could not be verified at press time due to breakdown of telecommunication facilities. Also, there was no reaction from the military authorities in the area as at press time.

Residents in the town said the terrorists operated till midnight, setting many houses ablaze before they fled. ““By the time troops came in the morning the attackers had fled,” a resident said. He noted that many of the residents have also fled to Chibok town after the attack.
