A 60-year-old Princess of the Oloto Royal Family in Lagos, Mrs Adeola Egbeyemi, has been arrested by the police in connection with a N2 billion land deal in the area.
It was gathered that the Princess was arrested on Thursday last week by police officers from the Lagos State Task Force office in Alausa, Ikeja.
The build-up to the stage for the woman began way back in 2007 when the Oloto family allegedly seized the N2 billion Estate built by Stardust Estate Limited in Gbagada area of Lagos.
According to police sources, Stardust Estate Nigeria Limited obtained the N2 billion loans from Skye Bank Nigeria Plc to develop the 27 plots of land, where the estate was built and in turn sold out to interested buyers.
However, Mrs Egbeyemi, in her statement to the police insisted that the plots of land belonged to the Oloto Royal Family that was planning to build millennium estate.
However, it was revealed that after the woman allegedly collected the land from the developers with the use of thugs, she was said to have contacted Westgate Properties, an estate company located on Opebi, Ikeja, which began to sell the plots of land to interested buyers.
But, Dr. Akin Akinmokun, a Partner with Stardust Estate Limited told the police that Skye Bank is pressurising the firm to pay back, saying the company lost about N2 billion on the project.
