Elizabeth Kaltman, former vice president of communications at the Motion Picture Association of America and a PR executive at The Walt Disney Studios, passed away Sunday after a two-year-long battle with cancer. She was 41.
A Los Angeles native, Kaltman worked at the MPAA for five years before joining the communications team at The Walt Disney Studios. Previously, she was the deputy press secretary for former Los Angeles Mayor James Hahn from 2003-2005 and the communications director for former Los Angeles Council member Wendy Greuel from 2005-2006. Kaltman was a project manager at Rob Reiner’s early childhood foundation I Am Your Child early on in her career. She held a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in U.S. history from UCLA.
Kaltman is survived by her husband, Adam Barondess, and their daughter, Lucy.
