Gov. Wada stated this during the third day prayers held in honour of Audu at the palace of the Orego Attah, and paramount ruler of Ogbonicha Kingdom, in Ofu Local Government Area of the state.
Audu, who was the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the election and also the first civilian governor of Kogi, died on Sunday at the age of 68. He has since been buried.
Represented at the prayer by a high powered delegation of government officials led by the state deputy governor, Yomi Awoniyi, Gov. Wada said Audu’s good works cut across all sectors of the state’s economy, adding that he would forever be remembered for his numerous achievements.
Others in the state government’s delegation included Secretary to the State Government, Prof Olugbemiro Jegede, Chief of Staff, Pharm. Nasiru Yunusa and Dr Moses Atakpa, the state’s Head of Service.
While extending his condolences again to the family members of the late former governor, Wada urged them to be consoled by the fact that his legacies will continue to live on.
In a remark, the eldest son of the deceased, Mohammed, expressed appreciation to the government and people for their support in their moment of grief.
It was learnt that the Chief Imam of Ankpa Mosque, Suleiman Adama, led about 117 other imams and Muslim faithful to pray for the repose of the soul of the late APC governorship candidate.
Dignitaries at the 3rd day fidau were: former Deputy Senate President Ibrahim Mantu, Benjamin Ikani and Kogi State frontline politician, Alhaji Jibrin Isah (Echocho).
