We Are Sorry – Enyeama Pleads For Nigerian’s Forgiveness

Super Eagles goal keeper and captain, Vincent Enyeama

Super Eagles captain Vincent Enyeama has pleaded to Nigerian fans to forgive the dissapointment of not qualifying for the African cup of nations in Equatorial Guinea next year.

The always reliable keeper did not hide words nor blame mates and came out and said to the fans, ‘We are sorry’.

Nigeria had began the better side in the game, with CSKA’s Ahmed Musa missing a one on one chance then hitting the cross bar with the South Africa’s keeper Darren Keet making save upon save.

He posted the photo above and stated:

The race is not swift, the battle is not to the strong.we were neither swift nor strong.but we thank #SUPERGOD for HIS sufficient grace throughout the ill fated afcon qualifying campaign.#WEARENIGERIA.#PROUDLYNAIJA#nomatterwhatloseorwin.#I want to say a big thank you to every fan, supporter, critics.without you guys,we couldn’t have made it this far.we will get back up and push towards the glory land.

SA’s Tokelo Rantie then punished the Eagles on the 43rd minute when he went past Eagles backline and scored.

Rantie at the turn of the half then did it again when he used his pace to get past both Eagles defenders and went past Enyeama to score.

Sone Aluko then came in and charged the Eagles up as he scored two late goals to save face for the team.

But the Hull city striker’s effort was not enough to help the Eagles out in the long run as Congo had defeated Sudan in Sudan by a lone goal.

South Africa qualified with 12 points while Congo came a not to distant second.
